Speaking at the event, Uwamahoro Clotilde, the President of the District Council appreciated the positive interaction among the children and encouraged them to remain hopeful about their future. She reminded them that local leaders are always close to them and urged them to avoid negative influences.
“When children come together, share moments, and interact without discrimination, it helps them realize that they are all equal and capable of dreaming big about their future. We want every child to believe in their own potential.” She said.

Children from well-off families also shared their experiences, noting that the event taught them the importance of unity, inclusion, and respecting every child equally. One of them, Kaliza Aime Gela, said that interacting with other children helped her understand that everyone deserves equal opportunities and confidence.
“I am happy to share moments with all my friends regardless of where they come from. It taught me that we are all the same and that we can support one another and live together in harmony.” she said.
On the other hand, children from vulnerable families said the event motivated them to stay in school and believe in themselves. Hirwa Angelo, one of the children from a vulnerable family, expressed his happiness about the warm reception and shared moments during the celebration.

Uwamariya Agnes, the Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building children’s confidence, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. “When children interact with others who are in school and living well, it inspires them, helps them understand the value of education, and contributes to reducing school dropouts.” She emphasized.
She added that the festive season provides a valuable opportunity to show children love, restore their confidence, and guide them toward a brighter future.
