Residents of Boneza Sector in Rutsiro District expressed great excitement during the opening day of the Kivu Beach Expo & Festival, which has now reached their district with the aim of promoting tourism.
This festival, known as the Kivu Beach Expo & Festival, was organized by Yirunga Ltd an experienced company in hosting expos in collaboration with Rutsiro District. The event took place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Palega Beach Inn Hotel, a stunning venue located in Boneza on the shores of Lake Kivu.
Yves Iyaremye, the CEO of Yirunga Ltd, expressed his joy about this unique event, noting that nothing similar had been held elsewhere. He thanked national leadership especially President Paul Kagame for providing opportunities to the youth and ensuring security that allows for long-term planning. He also appreciated the local leaders of Rutsiro and the residents for their hospitality and enthusiasm.
“The happiness I have witnessed here is exceptional. We have all the necessary conditions that make organization smooth. I will now be planning more events in Rutsiro that will entertain the community and bring shared benefits.” He stated.
Kayitesi Dativa, the Rutsiro District Mayor thanked all partners who supported the event, recognizing Yirunga Ltd for demonstrating that everything is possible and for bringing renewed hope and joy to the community. She also thanked the residents for their participation.
“I am grateful that the efforts we invested in preparing for this event have paid off. I thank Yirunga Ltd and the entire team they worked with. I also appreciate Igisupusupu, who brought so much joy and energized us all.
This is the first time we are experiencing such an event in our district, and we will strive to host more of them regularly. We also thank our partners who never disappoint us.” She spoke.
The Kivu Beach Expo & Festival features many exhibitors showcasing local crafts, cultural heritage through the historical exhibition corner (Gicumbi Ndangamateka), and entertainment programs for both children and adults, complete with food and drinks.
