At this year’s EXPO 2025 in Gikondo, one exhibitor is turning heads with a unique blend of cutting-edge innovation, eco-conscious design, and affordable pricing EV-AUTOMOBILE Ltd, a Rwandan company specializing in electric and hybrid vehicles, is stealing the show.
Running from July 29 to August 17, the expo offers a platform for businesses to showcase products that shape Rwanda’s future.

The only Rwandan supplier with electric, hybrid cars and follow up after sales service
Speaking to reporters, Jean Paul Masabo, the company’s Marketing Officer, emphasized their unique edge in the Rwandan auto market: “There are different types of cars in Rwanda, but what makes us unique is that we are the only company with electric and hybrid cars that we can follow up on after selling. What I mean is that we provide spare parts for our own cars and even for other cars purchased elsewhere, particularly those imported from China.”
This level of post-sale care makes the company a trusted name in a growing market of clean energy vehicles.
Designed to reduce pollution and fuel dependency
Masabo further highlighted the environmental and economic motivations behind their electric and hybrid offerings: “As you know, petrol and diesel cars pollute the air. That’s why, as EV-AUTOMOBILE, we have introduced electric cars to help reduce air pollution.”
He explained how their hybrid models work, making them ideal for local terrain: “Our hybrid cars can drive up to 115 kilometers using electricity alone. The engine only helps to recharge the battery it’s self-charging. The engine acts like a generator, providing electricity so the battery-powered motor can keep running.”
Continuing his explanation, Masabo noted: “As I mentioned, you can drive 115 kilometers on electricity. For the hybrid model, it has a fuel engine as well, and with just 2 liters of fuel, it can go an additional 100 kilometers. That means in total, it can cover over 215 kilometers not just reaching Huye, but Nyagatare or even Rusizi and back to Kigali without any issues.”
Built-in trust: Factory direct quality and full warranty
EV-AUTOMOBILE is not only focused on innovation but also on building consumer confidence. Masabo reassured potential buyers about the quality and durability of their cars: “Our cars are reliable. When you buy one of our vehicles, we give you a warranty on the battery, the engine everything.”
He specified the terms: “The warranty is four years or 100,000 kilometers. These are brand-new cars that come straight from the factory to Rwanda. Rwandans should trust that the vehicles we provide have no defects.”
Affordability redefined: Major discounts offered at EXPO 2025
In a market where many people rely on used imports, EV-AUTOMOBILE is challenging assumptions about the cost of new cars. Masabo encouraged Rwandans to visit the expo and see what they offer: “Another good thing about our cars is that they are affordable for every Rwandan who wants to own a brand-new 0KM vehicle. Here at the expo, we’ve significantly lowered prices so that any Rwandan who was planning to import a car will change their mind.”
He provided a standout example: “A car that used to cost 46.8 million Rwandan francs has now been reduced to 38.8 million Rwandan francs and that includes taxes. It’s not like others who quote a price and later add taxes our prices are final and discounted.”
