The World Internet Conference Organization held a press conference for international media in Beijing on September 29, providing updates on preparations and key highlights of the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, scheduled for November 2–5 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, China.

Under the theme “Openness and Collaboration: Working Together to Build a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace,” the summit will feature an opening ceremony, a main forum and 27 sub-forums covering issues including global internet governance, AI cooperation, robotics, intelligent technologies, global innovation, and green digital development.

The summit will also feature the Wuzhen Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence, bringing together leading technology companies, open-source AI developers and AI scientists to discuss the development of a global open-source AI ecosystem. Research on AI safety and governance will also be released.

Other activities will include the Light of Internet Expo, the “Straight to Wuzhen” Global Internet Competition, the World Internet Conference Leading Science and Technology Award, the Outstanding Contribution Award, and programs for young and emerging internet talents.

The summit is organized by the World Internet Conference and hosted by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, with support from international organizations including UNDESA, WIPO and GSMA.

During the Q&A session, journalists asked about new features of this year’s summit. In response, organizers highlighted the Light of Internet Expo, which will showcase the integrated development of the global internet and artificial intelligence.
