The Private Sector Federation (PSF), in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, officially launched the 28th edition of the International Trade Fair on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali. Exhibitors expressed that the expo provides an excellent opportunity to display and promote their products and services.
Jean Bosco Mungwarareba, the CEO of the construction materials manufacturing company, (AQUALIA) said it was their first time participating in the expo and that it provided a valuable platform to present their work to both Rwandans and the international community.
“Our company has been operating for a year now, and this expo was a great opportunity for us to show Rwandans what we produce locally. We used to import most construction materials, but we made a decision to manufacture some of these products ourselves. By doing so, we ensure high quality, reduce prices, and create more jobs for Rwandans especially the youth which contributes to national development.” He spoke.
He also encouraged young people to take part in trade fairs as it is a good place of learning opportunity.
“Youth should be encouraged to attend expos, engage with investors from various industries, and sharpen their minds while gaining innovative ideas. Creativity leads to broader thinking, which is essential for development.”

Goodluck Mutoni, CEO of GOG, a company that produces plant-based hair products, also participated in the expo and said it brought her many new clients, and she’s hopeful to gain even more before the exhibition ends.
“This expo really surprised me in the first week only, I received many inquiries from people wanting to buy in bulk. For me, that’s a success because when one person buys, they tell others. I’m grateful to the organizers of this expo and confident that by the end, I’ll have gained a significant number of clients and tangible profits.”

Jeanne Francoise Mubiligi, the Chairperson of PSF, noted that this year’s expo is unique due to the large number of participants compared to previous years.
She emphasized that the event is a valuable platform to present the work of Rwandans to both the local and international community.
“The expo helps us identify what products and services are available, discover new business ideas that have been developed and implemented, and from there, create impactful business solutions that address societal needs. Exhibitions like this make it easier for potential clients to find the services they need and for business owners to gain new customers, expand their market, and increase their revenue.” She stated.

This year’s trade fair features a wide range of sectors, including Telecommunications and IT, Public Institutions, Construction, Agriculture, Electronics, Petroleum, Machinery, Textiles, Tourism, Handicrafts, Furniture, Mining, Banking, Food and Beverages, among others.
The event runs from July 29 to August 17, 2025, at the Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali, with over 450 exhibitors from various countries showcasing their products and services.
