Metrology services are highly needed in our daily lives. Every service and activities in daily life depend on measurements. We all go the markets, supermarkets, need to clothe, pay electricity and water bills, use gas for cooking, buy petroleum products for our cars, bikes, etc. Industry needs measurements to manufacture products, to pack them and sell them in the country or abroad. In health services, our body mass is weighed before any health checks and medications are administered. These are among other daily activities where measurements are applied.

In order to ease access to metrology services, and in line with the Government of Rwanda’s vision to build private sector-led economy, Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) has opened the door for private bodies to offer metrology services and thus published underlying requirements.
